Grotefendhaus, Ziegelstraße 39

The half-timbered house was built in the first third of the 17th century, later raised and rebuilt (presumably around 1687, see inscription). The so-called "Tauband ornament" was used as a beam decoration. Due to difficult ownership circumstances, the building stood empty for about 20 years and was in danger of falling into disrepair.

Leaks in the roof caused damage to the clay ceilings and walls and the wooden structure. It has now been provisionally secured. The ground floor was most recently used as a shop, while the upper floors were used as living space.
